National policy on education

 September 22 Wednesday 

First period was optional. Greeshma and Georgia continued there seminar presentation. 

On the next period Joju sir continued our seminar session. English optional continued their presentation.

On the last period we the physical Science optional continued our discussion. We discussed on National policy on education.

National policy on education

The first national policy on education was in 1968 under former prime minister Indira Gandhi and the second one was in 1986 by former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi.

 National policy on education aimed on removal of disparities and equalization of educational opportunities by attending the specific needs of those who have been denied equality so far.

 The salient features of national policy on education include essence and role of education , National system of education, education for equality, reorganisation of education at different stages, technical and management education, making the system work, reorienting the content and process of education, the teacher and the teacher education, the management of education, resources and review.

 It is also known as Acharya ramamurti commission 

 The merits of national policy on education include financial suggestion, National system, uniform pattern, nation core curriculum, delinking degree from jobs, establishment of Navodaya schools, role of the central government , financial suggestions, vocationalisation ,equal educational opportunities.

 The demerits are neighbourhood school has been neglected, silence over public school, no checking minority school, too much expectation from community help, basic education is neglected  undue emphasis on seminars, multiplicity of authorities, no mention of increasing working hours.
